The APPG for London has warned that the reduction of £50m of Arts Council England funding to London's culture sector will put the future of arts and culture in the capital at risk.

Sir Bob Neill, the APPG for London co-chair has highlighted in particular the termination of Arts Council England funding for the English National Opera in its 2023-26 investment programme.

A 2017 report by the London Assembly highlights that the creative industries are worth £42bn per year in London: more than 11% of the city's total GVA, and accounts for around 1 in 6 jobs - which are around 22% more productive than the average across all sectors.
